CELEBRATING MAINE'S ROLE IN AMERICAN ART The Farnsworth Art Museum offers a nationally recognized collection of works from many of America's greatest artists, with 20,000 square feet of gallery space and over 15,000 works in the collection. It has one of the largest public collections of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson, while its Wyeth Center features works of N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth. The National Register-listed Farnsworth Homestead; the Olson House, a National Historic Landmark; and the Gamble Center for Education complete the complex.
The Langlais Sculpture Preserve is located at 576 River Road, Cushing, ME 04563 and is open from dawn to dusk with a 1/4 mile ADA-accessible path. The Langlais Sculpture Preserve is a nature and sculpture park celebrating Bernard Langlais's legacy and the natural resources of the Cushing peninsula. Established on a portion of Langlais's Cushing homestead, the Preserve retains several of Langlais's outdoor sculptures in situ, including the thirteen-foot Horse, Langlais's first monumental outdoor work and a landmark of Cushing's River Road; his satirical depiction of Richard Nixon in a marshy pond; and his sculptural homage to Christina Olson, the local woman featured in Andrew Wyeth's 1948 masterpiece, Christina's World, among other works.
The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) advances contemporary art in Maine through direct engagement with artists and the public, creating exceptional exhibitions and programs that communicate the transformative power of the art of our time.

Get Out and Stroll
Harbor to Harbor
Rockport to Camden approximately 2 miles - one way
For a stunning walk or drive, take the two-lane paved road that winds up and down on its way out of Rockport, with occasional views of the ocean and the village, en route to Camden. Begin at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Pascal Avenue in Rockport. Take a right off U.S. 1 toward Rockport Harbor, then cross the bridge and go up the hill to Central Street. One block later, bear right on Russell Avenue, which becomes Chestnut Street at the Camden town line; take this all the way to downtown Camden.
Lining the way are some of the most beautiful homes in Maine, surrounded by an abundance of flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for views of the sparkling ocean, as well as for Aldermere Farm and its Belted Galloway cows. (These rare cows get their name from the foot-wide white "belt" around their middles.) The walk or drive is beautiful at any time of the year, but in fall it's breathtaking. Like the rest of New England, the coast of Maine gets a large number of fall-foliage "leaf peepers," and the reds and golds of the chestnut, birch, and elm trees along this winding route are especially beautiful.
Belfast Heritage Park & Armistice Bridge
0.8 mile one way This short and picturesque walk allows residents and visitors to stroll, bike, or jog along the shore of the harbor in downtown Belfast enjoying city parks, gardens, birding opportunities and an up-close look at a working shipyard along the way.
